Jaco obtained his B.Com Honours degree from UPE (now Nelson Mandela University) in 1996 and completed his SAICA articles at Ernst and Young in Port Elizabeth, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1999. He has worked in various fields, including 16 years as a senior lecturer, specialising in IFRS, and four years as managing director in a national training and B-BBEE consulting company. He is married to Annemarie and has two daughters, Alexa and Layla.

Marketing & Human Resources Manager
Annemarie completed her doctoral degree in Psychology at the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela University) in 2004. She has experience in many different fields on a national and international level, including, lecturing, institutional research, funded research projects, publishing numerous articles in scholarly journals, managed a training company and is currently working as HR Manager at TDP Port Elizabeth. Annemarie is married to Jaco and has two daughters, Alexa and Layla.
Silicia Scheppel-Barnard

Silicia Scheppel-Barnard

Director | Attorney
Silicia is an attorney with 12 years of experience and a particular interest in commercial law. A graduate of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), she specializes in providing businesses with practical and effective legal solutions tailored to their needs. Her approach is client-focused, offering a personal touch to ensure every matter is handled with care. Silicia is passionate about finding comprehensive solutions that help her clients achieve their goals.
Theresa Jansen

Theresa Jansen

Manager
Theresa joined TDP SA during 2016 at the Somerset West branch while still studying part-time towards her B.Compt Financial Accounting degree through UNISA and completing her SAIPA articles. She joined the Theron du Plessis Port Elizabeth team in 2021 as our team manager who works with the director to manage a successful client portfolio and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
Maurice Millard

Maurice Millard

Manager
Maurice joined TDP SA in February 2021 after obtaining his BCom General Accounting degree from Nelson Mandela University. He is a qualified Professional Accountant (SA), registered with SAIPA, and has gained extensive experience in tax compliance and financial reporting. Maurice provides training and guidance to junior clerks, ensuring high standards in client service. His dedication and leadership have led to his promotion as Team Manager, where he continues to play a key role in supporting both clients and colleagues. Known for his level-headed approach and strong problem-solving skills, Maurice is a valued member of the TDP SA team.
Tian Smith

Tian Smith

Manager
Tian Smith is a dedicated Chartered Accountant (SA) with a passion for building strong relationships and helping others. He completed his BCom Accounting degree at Nelson Mandela University in 2019 and successfully passed his CTA in 2020. He then completed his articles at KPMG, where he gained valuable experience, and has since passed both board exams to qualify as a CA(SA). Originally from Gqeberha, Tian attended Charlo Primary and Framesby High Schools. Beyond the numbers, he is an avid cricketer and proudly represents the Port Elizabeth Cricket Club (PECC). He values teamwork - both on and off the field - and believes in fostering meaningful connections with colleagues and clients alike. Tian is engaged and looks forward to this exciting new chapter in his life.

Monique joined TDP SA in 2024 as a secretarial administrator, leveraging her diverse background in healthcare, animation, and tourism. Armed with a degree in dietetics and currently pursuing a masters, she brings a unique blend of skills to our team. Monique is dedicated to her role, ensuring the smooth functioning of administrative tasks. With her commitment and versatility, she is ready to contribute to the efficiency and collaborative spirit at TDP.

Mathilda was born and raised in Port Elizabeth and brings with her 41 years of experience in the banking industry, where she worked across various fields. With her extensive background, she adds significant value to the overall customer experience at TDP. She is passionate about building and maintaining strong relationships and is deeply committed to delivering exceptional customer service to every client she engages with.

Monré matriculated from Despatch High School in 2016, where he served as Headboy. He obtained his B.Com in General Accounting from Nelson Mandela University in 2020 and completed his SAIPA articles in 2025. Now a Professional Accountant (SA), Monré has a passion for working with people and values building meaningful, lasting relationships.

Nealy's ultimate goal is to simplify complex legal processes and deliver outcomes that work best for her clients.

Claudia holds an LLB degree from UNISA and has over ten years of experience in legal and administrative support. As TDP Legal’s Office Manager, she assists with the firm’s day-to-day operations and ensures adherence to professional and regulatory standards. Claudia is organised, reliable, and committed to supporting the team and clients with care and efficiency.
Mvulakazi Jaca

Mvulakazi Jaca

Professional Accountant (SA)
Mvulakazi (Mvula) Jaca is a dedicated Professional Accountant (SA) originally from Tsomo in the former Transkei. She began her career in accounting in 2014 and has since built strong expertise across various areas of the profession. She holds a B-Tech in Cost and Management Accounting from Walter Sisulu University and obtained her SAIPA professional designation in 2022. Beyond her passion for numbers, Mvulakazi enjoys all things creative - from décor to designing personalised party packs - and especially loves bringing joy to children’s birthday celebrations.
Felicity Snygans

Felicity is a Professional Accountant (SA), registered with SAIPA, and brings over 20 years of experience in the accounting industry. She completed her ND in Internal Auditing at Nelson Mandela University and has worked across a wide range of sectors, including two years of international experience in Scotland. Her passion for continual learning led her to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), and she enjoys mentoring and sharing knowledge within her team. With strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail, Felicity is committed to delivering accurate and reliable financial work. Outside of the office, Felicity is a proud mom to two teenage boys who keep her life fun, busy, and full of purpose.
San-Mari Breytenbach

San-Mari Breytenbach

SAIPA Clerk
San-Mari obtained her B.Com Managerial Accounting degree from Akademia in 2022. She joined the TDP team in January 2023 and is currently completing her SAIPA articles. San-Mari has 6 years of working experience in the hospitality industry, after obtaining her B.Com Hospitality Management degree from Stenden South Africa in 2017. San-Mari is passionate about people and focussed on building and maintaining strong client relationships.
JP Lategan

JP Lategan

Accounting Clerk
JP began his high school journey at Framesby Hoërskool before transferring to Pearson High School, where he matriculated in 2022. In June 2023, he joined TDP SA as an accounting clerk, where his dedication and skills quickly extended beyond his role to include IT support within the office. Currently, JP is also pursuing a qualification in Cybersecurity at Eduvos, further broadening his expertise and commitment to the field.

Nobuhle graduated in 2017 from the Nelson Mandela University with a diploma in Accounting. Nobuhle is a versatile team player since she has working experience from numerous previous roles. Nobuhle is hardworking and provides guidance to junior clerks in her role as Payroll Supervisor.

Aldolette successfully completed her Higher Certificate in Accounting Science in 2022 through UNISA and is currently pursuing a BCom degree in Management Accounting. Aldolette is passionate about her career and plans to commence her SAIPA articles, aspiring to become a qualified Professional Accountant.

Randy obtained his Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting from Nelson Mandela University in 2022. He began his career as an audit intern before joining the TDP team, where he is currently completing his SAIPA articles with the goal of becoming a professional accountant. Outside the office, Randy has a keen interest in sports.
